You might have heard that there is a drought in the Western Cape? Although we are extremely grateful for the recent rain we’ve had throughout the week, yesterday was a perfect winter’s day. The sun was out, there wasn’t a breath of wind and the ocean was calm. The most glorious day for a wedding!
My brother got married on the beach in Gordon’s Bay. The bride was absolutely breath-taking and the groom looked as dapper and happy as I’ve ever seen him. The ceremony and the beautiful words spoken by the justice of the peace were so fitting for the couple and their vows were beautiful. I would be lying if I said I didn’t shed a tear or two.
The decor and all arrangements were done by the bride and groom with the help of family and friends. Everyone pitched in to help with everything. It all came together beautifully.
Another special touch was the champers, a delicious MCC created and bottled by the father of the bride for the special occasion. It was spectacular!
Everything but the kitchen sink
This was our first weekend away as a family of 3. We packed everything, as in ev-ery-thing. We used it as a test run for a weekend away we have planned in June. We spent 2 evenings at the venue, the night before the wedding and the night of. Our tiny human settled well, although she did struggle to fall asleep in an unfamiliar environment on the first night. The day of the wedding she was a champ and was content in the midst of the wedding crowd.
What a beautiful day spent in the company of beautiful people!
